Tom Dunphy was the founding member of the Royal Showband, Music was his passion and he was a big name in the 1960s and 1970s, He was killed in a car accident on the 29th of July 1975 Aged 39 years, this memorial was errected in his honour in July 1978 by his friends in the Jimmy MaGee Allstars close to the spot where he lost his life near Mohill Cross just off the N4
